Impacts of Underlying Surface on the Dusty Weather in Central Inner Mongolian Steppe, China

Dust storms are common in northern China and can adversely affect the environment human health. The Xilingol grassland is main source of dust China. However, impacts different surface features on dusty weather League remain unclear. This study analyzed temporal spatial variation characteristics corresponding effects using data from 13 meteorological stations, MODIS normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) data, soil moisture collected 2005 to 2018. Spatially, outbreak frequency (DOF) decreased gradually western desert steppe eastern typical steppe. Temporally, ratio (DOR) DOF were highest spring (March–May), with April. Dusty mostly occur but this season over 14-year period. On contrary, NDVI increased west less precipitation east more precipitation. And showed fluctuating increasing trends time. DOR was negatively correlated moisture, increase southern cultivated land, emission threshold also increased. predicted by league significantly actual DOR. Our research provide specific suggestions for regions League.
